Hypnotherapy is most easily described as a treatment designed to change our behaviour and remove emotional problems using hypnosis. I use two types of Hypnotherapy: Suggestion and Analytical Hypnotherapy. These two types of therapy arguably sit at either end of the spectrum of therapies using Hypnosis.
Suggestion therapy is designed to control or manage symptoms while analytical hypnotherapy aims to resolve the underlying cause of the problem. Both therapies use Hypnosis as an aid to suggestion or recall, helping the client to overcome fears, phobias, anxiety and many more symptoms.
Most people are aware that Hypnotherapy can help people stop smoking or overcome phobias, however you may be surprised to learn that it can also help with depression, anxiety, confidence as well as panic attacks.
What to expect from a Hypnotherapy Session
For both types of Hypnotherapy we begin with a chat. It is important that you feel comfortable and understand what the treatment entails. It is also important for me to understand a little about you so that we can work together and ensure you get the most from the therapy.
Next I will explain the type of therapy we are going to use and why that particular one is best suited to you and your symptoms. I will also explain what is going to be expected from you; for example, am I going to do all the talking (suggestion therapy) or are you going to take a more active role (analytical hypnotherapy).
